What you need to know:

Visa Requirement: All travelers to Australia must have a valid visa. Make sure to apply for the appropriate visa well in advance of your trip, whether it's a tourist visa, an eVisitor, or an ETA. This will ensure you're all set for your Aussie escape.

ETA is the route Jon went:  I applied online through the app that you can download on your IOS or Google Play Store. 

• Once the app was on the phone it took less than 10 minutes and I had the approval from Australia in about 3 minutes.

• The toughest part of the process was getting the passport photo with out a glare and then using my phone to scan the passport chip. (note, take your case off to scan your passport chip)

• I listed our hotel address in Sydney for my contact information.   Meriton Suites Sussex Street, 230 Sussex Street Sydney (the system grabbed the rest for me).  Phone number is 2 9277 1111

• Your ETA is good for 12 months from the date it is issued.

• Going direct through the app, the fee was $20.00AUD
